Below is a selection of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quotes from today’s earlier media availability:

Running Back Doug Martin
Guard Kevin Pamphile

RUNNING BACK DOUG MARTIN

(On the first thing he did when he got back to One Buc)
“The first thing I did when I got back was to go see the trainers to make sure that I was physically okay and I passed that with flying colors. Not everybody else is here right now. We’ve got a late schedule today, but I can’t wait to see everybody.”

(On if he is excited to be back)
“Oh yeah, definitely. We’ve got the Patriots coming up and I can’t wait to get out there and play for these guys. It’s been a while. It was a long break and now I can’t wait to get out there and play.”

(On what he has been doing the past four weeks)
“I’ve just been working out. I was over there in California. If I wasn’t working out, I was hanging out with my family who also lives out there. I’m glad to be back.”

(On how much of an asset he can be to the Buccaneers as he gets back out on the field)
“I’m going to go out there and just do the best that I can do. I’ll be as ready as I can be and just play for these guys and just work hard like I know I can.”

(On how he feels physically)
“I feel great. I had a good plan over there in California. The guys that I was working out with, they definitely helped me out a lot and I believe that I am ready to go.”

(On what it means about the Buccaneers organization that they stuck with him and brought him back)
“It says a lot. I’m very grateful [with] everything that has gone on and it feels good that they’re sticking by my side. I just want to go out there and play hard and do what I know I can do.”

(On watching the games from home)
“I had to go somewhere to see the games because they don’t show a lot of the Buccaneers games out in [California], so I had to go somewhere to see it. I watched it with my family. It was weird. It was different. As I am watching my heart is going and things like that, but I’m glad that I’m back now.”

(On what he sees in the offensive line and the running game so far this season)
“With [O.J. Howard’s] presence with us, the running game has definitely improved, as well as having J.R. Sweezy back. It’s just going to keep on improving and I can’t wait to get out there and just run behind those guys.”

(On what it means to him that his teammates talk so highly of him)
“It means a lot. I love these guys and these guys love me. I know that [when] I wasn’t here, I know they were thinking of me and they can’t wait for me to get back here. Now I’m back and I’m going to play for these guys.”

(On what is the biggest positive of coming back at this point of the season)
“Fresh legs – that’s the best thing about this.”

GUARD KEVIN PAMPHILE

(On the short week)
“Obviously coming off of a win is a good feeling right now. What we want to do is capitalize on that and build on that process – go into Thursday with a good mindset.”

(On how difficult it is physically)
“It’s a quick turnaround for everyone who is a little banged up [and] guys who played a little longer than usual. Obviously, we have to make sure we get plenty of rest and hydration. [We’ve got to] game plan and make sure we study enough film [to] make sure we are on the right keys and then communicate.”

(On if he is excited for the opportunity to go up against a defense who has been giving up 32 points per game this season)
“Yeah, a little bit, but we can’t take anything away from them. That’s a great team. [They’re] the defending champs. We want to attack them regardless [of] if they are giving up points or not. [We] want to prove ourselves. We want to make sure we let them know we’re a competitive team.”

(On running back Doug Martin returning to the team)
“It’s great to see Doug back, honestly. That’s a breath of fresh air – another asset to the offense that is just going to make us even more tough to beat.”

(On what Martin means to the locker room)
“We treat Doug as family. He is a brother. We’re happy to see him back and we’re able to give him support on the field.”
