Final Game Dates and Times Forthcoming
The National Football League today unveiled its 2015 preseason slate, featuring opponent matchups and weeks. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open on the road at the Minnesota Vikings, followed by consecutive home contests against the AFC North: Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals on ESPN’s Monday Night Football and Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. The preseason concludes with a trip to face the Miami Dolphins. Specific game dates and times will be released following the finalization of the national broadcast schedule.
Tampa Bay’s first preseason game of 2015 will be at Minnesota during Week 1 (August 13-17), the first time that the two former NFC Central rivals will meet in the preseason. Buccaneers defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier spent seven years with the Vikings, including three full seasons as head coach (2011-13).
Following the trip to Minneapolis, the Buccaneers will return home for two games, the first of which will be a Week 2 game against Cincinnati, nationally televised on ESPN’s Monday Night Football (August 24, 8:00 p.m.). This matchup will mark the first time the teams have met in the preseason since 2004. The Bucs have faced the Bengals in 12 preseason contests, and are 8-4 against them all-time.
In Week 3 (August 27-30), the Buccaneers will face another AFC North opponent at Raymond James Stadium, hosting the Cleveland Browns. The two teams have not played each other in the preseason since 2001, and the Browns have not visited Tampa Bay for a preseason contest since 1999. Overall, Tampa Bay and Cleveland have faced off seven times in the preseason, with the Buccaneers currently holding a 4-3 edge in the series.
The Buccaneers will close out their preseason with their longest-running preseason series, facing Miami in Week 4 (September 2-3). The 2015 matchup between the in-state rivals will mark the 15th consecutive season and the 30th time overall that the two teams have played each other in the preseason. Miami leads the series 17-12, but Tampa Bay has won three of the last four meetings (2011-14).
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now offering season pass memberships at a wide variety of price points. Memberships start at just $30 (per game) for adults and $15 (per game) for youth.
