BUCCANEERS AND MOFFITT CANCER CENTER RENEW PARTNERSHIP

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Moffitt Cancer Center announced today that they have renewed their partnership with a multiyear deal.

The Buccaneers and Moffitt continue to focus on joint community engagement initiatives, such as the Buccaneers Rookie Club visiting the cancer center and its patients this fall. The team will also provide a week of exclusive auction items leading up to its “A Crucial Catch” breast cancer awareness game in October, with proceeds benefitting Moffitt.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center,” said Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford. “As the top-ranked cancer hospital in Florida, Moffitt serves a vital role in our community and beyond. The Buccaneers look forward to aiding Moffitt’s cause and growing our long-standing commitment to the health of the Tampa Bay area in conjunction with a world-class name like Moffitt Cancer Center.”

Moffitt was ranked No. 6 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 Best Hospitals for Cancer rankings and has been named to the 2016 edition of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs. The cancer center has also been included in the 2015 Working Mother 100 Best Companies national list, No. 6 ranking on DiversityInc’s 2016 Top 10 Hospitals and Health Systems list, and the 2016 Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality.

“The cancer center is fortunate to be able to partner with the Buccaneers organization,” says Moffitt President and CEO Alan F. List, M.D. “The Bucs’ leadership and many of their players have been wonderful advocates for cancer prevention and for stressing the importance of cancer research. We look forward to the coming season, and we are so pleased to be on the same team.”

The Buccaneers are dedicated to Moffitt’s mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer, led by Co-Chairman Bryan Glazer, who was appointed to the center’s national Board of Advisors in January 2015. As a board member, Glazer serves as a Moffitt ambassador and offers expertise and counsel on issues relating to the cancer center.
