The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have placed safety Chris Conte on Injured Reserve and promoted linebacker Darius Eubanks from the practice squad to the active roster.
Conte has started 13-of-14 games that he has played for Tampa Bay this season, totaling 78 tackles, six tackles for loss, six passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one special teams tackle..
Eubanks (6-2, 222) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013, spending the 2013 preseason and offseason with the team, before being waived. He started the 2013 season on the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad, before being promoted to the active roster, playing in nine games, with one start, totaling nine tackles and three special teams tackles. Eubanks, who played collegiately at Georgia Southern, spent the 2014 offseason and preseason with Cleveland, before being placed on injured reserve prior to the start of the 2014 regular season.
The Harlem, Georgia, native was with Cleveland for this past offseason, before being waived on August 9. He joined the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on October 20, spending eight weeks with the team, before being waived on December 15. Eubanks will wear No. 49 for Tampa Bay.
