Team Also Signs Two To Practice Squad
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have promoted cornerback C.J. Wilson from the practice squad to the active roster.
Wilson (5-11, 187) joined Tampa Bay on September 9, signing with the team’s practice squad. The former North Carolina State product originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2013. Wilson spent the first six weeks of the 2013 season on the Bears’ active roster, before being waived and signing onto the team’s practice squad.
The team also announced that they have signed linebacker Jeremy Grable and guard Jeremiah Warren to the practice squad.
Grable (6-0, 220) played collegiately at Valdosta State and spent time with Tampa Bay during the 2014 offseason and preseason.
Warren (6-3, 325) re-joins Tampa Bay after joining the team during the 2014 preseason, including playing in the final game of the preseason against Washington. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the New England Patriots in 2012, before being waived following the preseason. New England then added him to the practice squad that season, before releasing him at the end of the year. After spending the 2013 offseason with the Arizona Cardinals, Warren joined the New Orleans Saints for training camp, where he was released in final roster cuts, but was added to the Browns practice squad for the 2013 season.
