Team Also Waives G Rishaw Johnson and Signs OL Allen to Practice Squad
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have promoted quarterback Mike Kafka from the practice squad to the active roster and waived guard Rishaw Johnson.
Kafka (6-3, 225) signed with Tampa Bay this past offseason, playing with the team during the preseason before joining the Buccaneers’ practice squad for the first three weeks of the season. He has played in four career regular-season games.
The team also announced that they have signed offensive lineman Josh Allen to their practice squad.
Allen (6-3, 315) originally came to Tampa Bay as a college free agent out of Louisiana-Monroe this offseason, spending the preseason with the team, before being waived on August 31. Allen was then signed to the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad for the first three weeks of the season, before being released earlier this week.
