BUCCANEERS PROMOTE RB RUSSELL HANSBROUGH FROM THE PRACTICE SQUAD; PLACE RB CHARLES SIMS ON IR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has promoted running back Russell Hansbrough from the practice squad to the active roster and placed running back Charles Sims on Injured Reserve.
 
Hansbrough (5-9, 195) joined Tampa Bay as a college free agent out of Missouri this past offseason. He was with the Buccaneers through the preseason and has spent time on the team’s practice squad this year. He wears No. 44 for the Buccaneers.
 
Hansbrough, a native of Arlington, Texas, played in 48 games at Missouri (2012-15), starting 14, rushing 467 times for 2,344 yards and 15 touchdowns. His 2,344 rushing yards are the 10th-most in school history.
 
Sims has played in four games for Tampa Bay this season, starting two. He has rushed 41 times for 116 yards, with one touchdown, while catching 14 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown.
