The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have re-signed defensive end Larry English, defensive end Lawrence Sidbury, tight end Luke Stocker and linebacker Jason Williams.
English (6-2, 255), played in 12 games with the Buccaneers last season, making one start, totaling 12 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. He originally entered then NFL as a first-round draft pick (16th overall) of the San Diego Chargers in 2009 out of Northern Illinois, spending five seasons with San Diego (2009-13). In his career English has played in 64 games with 10 starts, recording 92 tackles, 12.0 sacks, two passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Sidbury (6-3, 269) played in one game with the Buccaneers last season, notching one tackle. He entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (125th overall) of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2009 NFL Draft. Sidbury spent four seasons with Atlanta (2009-12), playing in 48 games and registering 14 tackles, 5.0 sacks and one fumble recovery. He also played in the Falcons’ 2011 Wild Card Playoff game against the New York Giants, tallying one tackle. In 2013, Sidbury signed with the Indianapolis Colts, but spent the season on the Injured Reserve. He spent the 2014 preseason with the Houston Texans.
Stocker (6-5, 253) was drafted by Tampa Bay in the fourth round (104th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft. In his four seasons with the Buccaneers, Stocker has started 29-of-45 games, catching 35 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown.
Williams (6-1, 245) enters his seventh season, after playing three games with Tampa Bay last season. Originally a third-round draft selection (69th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2009 NFL Draft, Williams has played in 60 career games, with four starts recording 34 tackles, two forced fumbles, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery, while also tallying 30 special teams tackles.
