BUCCANEERS ROOKIE CLUB TO SPEND TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH YOUTHS AT METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES

What:
On Tuesday, October 6 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., the entire 2015 Buccaneers Rookie Club, including Jameis Winston, Donovan Smith, Ali Marpet, and Kwon Alexander, along with Buccaneers Cheerleaders and Captain Fear will continue the team’s tradition of supporting the underserved youths at Metropolitan Ministries for the Ministries’ annual Fall Festival. For more than 20 years, the Buccaneers have served as special guests for the yearly event, a brain child of the LampLighters (Ladies Assisting Metropolitan People), who host the festival for the resident children at Metropolitan Ministries. On Tuesday afternoon, the Buccaneers will entertain and interact with more than 100 of the Ministries’ children through games, dancing, arts and crafts, and more.

Throughout the year, the Buccaneers rookies will continue to participate in a variety of outreach activities as members of the Buccaneers Rookie Club, the team’s longstanding effort to engage its youngest players with the local community. In 2015, the group has already served lunch to the underserved community at Trinity Cafe, gone bowling with Tampa Fire Rescue, taken a trip to James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital to spend time with wounded warriors, and visited MacDill Air Force Base to greet local servicemen and servicewomen stationed in Tampa. For more information on the team’s community initiatives, visit www.buccaneers.com/community.

Metropolitan Ministries is a nonprofit, nondenominational, faith-based organization that provides assistance for poor and homeless families throughout the Tampa Bay area.
