BUCCANEERS SIGN DE LARRY WEBSTER TO PRACTICE SQUAD; RELEASE FB AUSTIN JOHNSON FROM PRACTICE SQUAD
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed defensive end Larry Webster to the practice squad and released fullback Austin Johnson from the practice squad.
Webster (6-6, 275) originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick (136th overall) of the Detroit Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Elkton, Maryland native spent the 2014 season on the Lions’ active roster, but did not play in any games and spent the 2015 season on Detroit’s practice squad. In 2016, he spent the majority of the season on Carolina Panthers’ practice squad before appearing in the final game of the season, recording one tackle. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the Panthers, before being waived before the start of the season. Webster, who played collegiately at Bloomsburg, will wear No. 78 for the Buccaneers.
