The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed defensive end Lawrence Sidbury to the active roster.
Sidbury (6-3, 269) played in one game for Tampa Bay last season and spent the offseason and preseason with the Buccaneers. In his sixth season out of Richmond, Sidbury has played in 49 games, recording 15 tackles, five tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and one fumble recovery, along with three special teams tackles. The Oxon Hill, Maryland, native will wear No. 59 for Tampa Bay.
The team also announced that they have signed linebacker Quayshawn Nealy and defensive end Ronald Powell to its practice squad.
Nealy (6-0, 237) joins the team after having spent this past offseason and preseason with the Seattle Seahawks. A native of Winter Haven, Florida, Nealy entered the NFL this year as a college free agent with Seattle. Nealy, who played collegiately at Georgia Tech, will wear No. 57 for Tampa Bay.
Powell (6-3, 237) originally entered the league as a fifth-round selection (169th overall) of the New Orleans Saints in the 2014 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with New Orleans, the former Florida Gator played in 14 games. A Moreno Valley, California native, Powell will wear No. 71 for Tampa Bay.
