BUCCANEERS SIGN DRAFT PICK NOAH SPENCE

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed defensive end Noah Spence, the first of the team’s two second-round selections in the 2016 NFL Draft.
 
Spence (6-2, 251) was chosen 39th overall out of Eastern Kentucky, where he spent his redshirt junior season (2015), totaling 63 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In his one season at Eastern Kentucky, the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native was named an FCS All-American by the Associated Press, STATA, Walter Camp Foundation and College Sporting News, while being chosen as the FCS National Defensive Performer of the Year by the College Football Performance Awards.
 
Prior to his time at Eastern Kentucky, Spence played two seasons at Ohio State (2012-13), earning first-team All-Big Ten honors from the league’s media and second-team honors from the league’s coaches as a sophomore, when he posted 14.5 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks. Spence will wear No. 57 for the Buccaneers.
