Team Waives LB Josh Keyes & WR Freddie MartinoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed defensive tackle John Hughes III.
Hughes (6-2, 320), originally entered the league as a third-round pick (87th overall) by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Gahanna, Ohio native played for the Browns from 2012-16, appearing in 53 games, with 10 starts, registering 109 tackles, eight for loss, 5.5 sacks, four passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Hughes, who played collegiately at Cincinnati, was released by Cleveland on September 20. He signed with the New England Patriots on September 27 and was released on October 1. Hughes will wear No. 67 for the Buccaneers.
The team also announced that linebacker Josh Keyes and wide receiver Freddie Martino have been waived.
