The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have signed linebacker Orie Lemon from the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad to the active roster.
Lemon (6-1, 235) originally entered the league in 2011 with the Dallas Cowboys as a college free agent out of Oklahoma State. He spent the 2011 season on the team’s practice squad and spent the first two weeks of the 2012 season on Dallas’ practice squad before being promoted to the Cowboys’ active roster in Week 3. Lemon played in five games in 2012 with Dallas, totaling three tackles and one fumble recovery, as well as two special teams tackles.
Lemon spent the 2013 offseason and preseason with the Kansas City Chiefs, before being released and signing to the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. In November of 2013, Lemon was signed onto Dallas’ active roster from the Cardinals’ practice squad, playing in three games for the Cowboys. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the Cowboys, before being released following Week One and signing onto the Chiefs’ practice squad.
Lemon will wear No. 45 for the Buccaneers.
