The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed quarterback Dan LeFevour.
LeFevour (6-3, 230) originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick (181st overall) of the Chicago Bears in the 2010 NFL Draft. From 2010-12, he spent time with Chicago, the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. After being released by Jacksonville during the 2012 offseason, LeFevour spent 2012-15 in the Canadian Football League, playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes.
A native of Downers Grove, Illinois, LeFevour played collegiately at Central Michigan (2006-09), where he set an FBS record, totaling 150 touchdowns (102 passing, 47 rushing, one receiving). His 15,853 career offensive yards stand as the fourth-most ever by an FBS player. Current Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian spent three seasons (2007-09) as Central Michigan’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during LeFevour’s career.
