The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have signed quarterback Mike Kafka and wide receiver Tavarres King to the practice squad.
Kafka (6-3, 225) spent the past four weeks on Tampa Bay’s active roster before being waived on Monday. He played with the Buccaneers during the preseason and spent the first three weeks of the season on the team’s practice squad.
King (6-1, 210) originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick (161st overall) of the Denver Broncos in the 2013 NFL Draft. King spent the first six weeks of the season on the Broncos’ practice squad, before getting promoted to the active roster on October 15. He was waived on October 19 and was claimed by the Carolina Panthers, spending the remainder of the season on the Panthers’ active roster, where he was inactive for 10 games.
King - who played collegiately at Georgia - spent the 2014 offseason and preseason with Carolina and was signed to the team’s practice squad prior to the start of the regular season. After two weeks, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him to their active roster, where he was inactive for five games before being waived on October 25.
