Team Also Signs TE Alan Cross & LB Cameron Lynch to Practice SquadThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed running back Jacquizz Rodgers.
Rodgers (5-6, 205) has played in 68 regular season games, with five starts, rushing 319 times for 1,157 yards and five touchdowns, while catching 156 passes for 1,114 yards and five touchdowns and returning 50 kickoffs for 1,192 yards. The Richmond, Texas native has also played in three postseason contests, rushing 20 times for 96 yards and catching six passes for 26 yards.
Rodgers originally entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick (145th overall) by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2011 NFL Draft. Rodgers, who played collegiately at Oregon State, spent four seasons with Atlanta (2011-14) before joining Chicago last season (2015). Rodgers will wear No. 32 for Tampa Bay.
The team also announced that tight end Alan Cross and linebacker Cameron Lynch have been signed to the practice squad. Cross joined Tampa Bay this past offseason and was with the team until being waived last Saturday. Cross will wear No. 45 for the Buccaneers.
Lynch (6-0, 229) originally entered the league with the Rams as a college free agent in 2015. Last season, the Lawrenceville, Georgia native played in all 16 games for the team, recording four special teams tackles. Lynch, who played collegiately at Syracuse, spent this past offseason and preseason with the Rams, before being waived on September 3. Lynch will wear No. 52 for Tampa Bay.
