On Monday, May 7, beginning at 9:30 a.m., the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will team up with technology leader and corporate partner, Jabil to strengthen a community area in need through a collaborative “Day of Service”. Owner/President of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and Glazer Family Foundation Darcie Glazer Kassewitz and Jabil Senior Vice President Beth Walters will join the entire Buccaneers business staff, Captain Fear and Buccaneers Cheerleaders, more than 80 Jabil staff, United Way Suncoast volunteers and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn to renovate and refresh the Grant Park Community Center and Playground in East Tampa.

The dual-impact community day will include a completely refurbished computer lab with new IT equipment, additional work stations and a printer to assist local students with their schoolwork and help adults seeking employment. A brand new hydroponic garden will also enable residents in the community to grow fruits and vegetables with programming through the non-profit organization Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. Additionally, volunteers will refresh the playground and overhaul the entire building with fresh paint, new landscaping and a newly-constructed teen hangout room to support the city’s Stay and Play program.

At 2:30 p.m., more than a dozen Buccaneers players including tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, wide receiver Adam Humphries and left tackle Donovan Smith will welcome 80 local students to the park center for the reveal of the renovation project. Following remarks from distinguished leaders, the Buccaneers players will help reveal the newly-renovated facility to the students, including a special gift for each youth in attendance. Focused on promoting the sport’s advancement while encouraging safe youth play, the Buccaneers will surprise each child with a brand-new pair of cleats. As part of the team’s commitment to youth football development, Buccaneers players will then lead the students in Play 60 drills – encouraging exercise while teaching the fundamentals of the game.

The enhanced collaboration between the Buccaneers and Jabil symbolizes both organizations’ commitment to enriching the Tampa Bay community through impactful teamwork and reviving positive fixtures in the Grant Park area.
