MEDIA ALERT: BUCCANEERS ROOKIE CLUB TO SPEND TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH YOUTHS AT METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES

What:
On Tuesday, November 8 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Glazer Family Foundation Co-President Darcie Glazer Kassewitz and the 2016 Buccaneers Rookie Club, including Vernon Hargreaves III, Noah Spence, and Peyton Barber, along with Buccaneers Cheerleaders and Captain Fear will continue the team’s tradition of supporting homeless and at-risk youths at the Metropolitan Ministries annual Fall Festival. For more than 20 years, the Buccaneers have served as special guests for the yearly event, a brain child of the LAMPLighters (Ladies Assisting Metropolitan People), who host the festival for the resident children at Metropolitan Ministries. On Tuesday afternoon, the Buccaneers will entertain and interact with more than 100 of the Ministries’ children through games, dancing, arts and crafts, and more.

Throughout the year, the Buccaneers rookies are participating in a variety of outreach activities as members of the Buccaneers Rookie Club, the team’s long-standing effort to engage its youngest players with the local community. This offseason, the rookies participated in a bowling outing with Tampa Fire Rescue, visited MacDill Air Force Base, and hosted a PLAY 60 session with children from the Jackson Heights NFL Y.E.T. Center. In September, the group also visited with patients and families at Moffitt Cancer Center. As the year progresses, the rookies will continue to participate in events that support active and retired military, inspire underprivileged youth, and promote healthy lifestyles for local children. For more information on the team’s community initiatives, visit www.buccaneers.com/community.
