The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the second annual Treasure Chests 5K Run/Walk & Corporate Challenge on Sunday, October 12 before the Buccaneers host the Baltimore Ravens at Raymond James Stadium. More than 3,000 participants are expected for the event, which will support breast cancer research and patient services, benefitting the American Cancer Society, the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, the Florida Hospital Foundation, and Moffitt Cancer Center. The race also coincides with the Buccaneers' involvement in the NFL-wide Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which will be celebrated throughout Sunday afternoon’s game at Raymond James Stadium.
To help kick off Sunday’s race, Pamela Fay and Dr. Paula O’Neil will serve as the event’s Honorary Race Starters. Both women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, and they continue to inspire others as they fight the deadly disease. To see their powerful testimonials, featured in “Stories of Hope: Journey to the TC5K,” click here or visit Buccaneers.com/community.
The route for the Treasure Chests 5K Run/Walk & Corporate Challenge winds around Raymond James Stadium, and each entry into the race comes complete with admission to Sunday’s game. The first 500 people who registered for the race will get even closer to the action, as they will have the opportunity to be part of an on-field halftime experience.
