Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers Postgame Notes (10/4/15)

- RB Doug Martin scored his first rushing touchdown of the season on a five-yard run in the second quarter, capping off a 13-play drive, the team’s longest scoring drive of the season and the most plays in a touchdown drive since Week 3 of 2014 (at ATL, 9/18/14, 15 plays).
 
- With that rushing touchdown, Martin tied Earnest Graham and Lars Tate for the eighth-most rushing touchdowns in franchise history.

- DT Gerald McCoy tallied his third sack of the season in the first half, dropping Carolina QB Cam Newton for a nine-yard loss. McCoy now has 30.0 career sacks.

- On Carolina’s first possession of the second half, Panthers QB Cam Newton fumbled the ball and Buccaneers CB Tim Jennings recovered. It is Jennings’ first fumble recovery of the season and the eighth of his career.
 
- With Jennings’ fumble, Tampa Bay has now recorded a takeaway in 11 straight games, the longest streak for the Buccaneers since doing so in 13 consecutive games from 2009-10 (11/29/09 at ATL-11/7/10 at ATL).
 
- In the third quarter, RB Charles Sims caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from QB Jameis Winston. It is Sims’ second touchdown reception of the season and the second of his career. Sims, who also caught a touchdown last week at Houston, becomes the first Buccaneers running back to catch touchdowns in consecutive games since 1991 (Robert Wilson, 10/6/91 vs. PHI-10/20/91 at NO) and only the fourth in team history to do so (also: James Wilder, 11/5/89 vs. CLE-11/12/89 vs. MIN; Adger Armstrong, 11/25/84 vs. L.A.-12/2/84 at GB).
 
- WR Vincent Jackson finished today’s game with 10 receptions for 147 yards and one touchdown. The 10 receptions are tied for a career best.
 
- With today’s totals, Jackson now has 3,822 receiving yards with the Buccaneers, passing RB James Wilder for the sixth-most in franchise history.
