Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets Postgame Notes (11/12/17)

- Tampa Bay scored the first points of the game on a 29-yard field goal from K Patrick Murray, capping a 17-play, 77-yard drive that lasted 7:56. The 17 plays are the most for Tampa Bay in a single drive since a 17-play drive against Chicago last season (11/13/16).
 
- Murray added his second field goal of the day in the third quarter, connecting on a 49-yard attempt to finish a nine-play, 44-yard drive lasting 4:18.
 
- WR Bernard Reedy had a 44-yard punt return in the second quarter of today’s game. It is the longest punt return for the Buccaneers since 2015 (Bobby Rainey, 58 yards vs. Jacksonville, 10/11/15).
 
- In the second quarter, CB Brent Grimes recorded his second interception of the season, intercepting a pass from Jets QB Josh McCown at the Tampa Bay 40-yard line, returning it 28 yards, to the New York 32-yard line.
 
- Grimes now has 32 career interceptions, which is tied for fifth among active players. His 19 interceptions since 2013 are tied for the second-most in the NFL.

- The Buccaneers got their second takeaway of the day in the third quarter, with LB Kwon Alexander forcing a fumble from Jets RB Bilal Powell, which was recovered by Tampa Bay LB Lavonte David at the Buccaneers 49-yard line. The forced fumble is the first of the season for Alexander and the fourth of his career.
 
- David now has four fumble recoveries this season, the most in the NFL and tied for the most in a single season in Buccaneers history.

- The Buccaneers scored their lone touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, when RB Charles Sims caught a six-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to end a 15-play, 81-yard drive lasting 7:25. That was the first receiving touchdown of the season for Sims and the sixth of his career. Fitzpatrick now has 171 career touchdown passes.
 
- DE Will Clarke recorded his first sack of the season in the second quarter of today’s game, dropping Josh McCown for an eight-yard loss. He now has 5.5 career sacks.
 
- LB Kendell Beckwith recorded his first career sack in the second quarter of today’s game, bringing down McCown for an eight-yard loss.
 
- DE Robert Ayers, DT Gerald McCoy and DT Clinton McDonald each recorded a sack in the fourth quarter. All three players now have 3.0 sacks this season. Ayers now has 36.0 career sacks, McCoy now has 45.5 career sacks and McDonald now has 17.0 career sacks.
 
- Since 2013, McCoy has 36.5 sacks, the most in the NFL among defensive tackles during that timespan.
